HISTORY...Moorhouse
Ranch has a strong ranching legacy which was born in the early 1900s
and continues still today. The ranch consists of approximately 75,000
owned and leased acres located in King, Knox, Stonewall Counties in
Texas where they run 1,800 mother cows, 1,000 yearlings and 100 Quarter
Horses.
Their
success is partially due to the quality of ranch horses they raise and
use daily. Moorhouse Ranch maintains one of the best remudas of American
Quarter Horses, as their noted offspring have been an influential part
of the promotion and popularity of the Quarter Horse.
Their
many awards include "Top Ranch Horse of the World" at the
Ranch Horse Association of America Finals in 1997, along with numerous
other "Top Horse" awards. At the 2002 "Best of the West
Invitational Ranch Rodeo," a 1997 Moorhouse stallion named Waurika
was awarded "Best of America's Horse."
